✦ Why do we need PiMSR/PBS admission portal?

PiMSR/PBS admission portal is made to simplify institute level admission process based on the merit list where the applicants can fill there details online and once selected on basis of merit list then can apply for admission by paying required amount of fees.

✦ When will the merit list be declared?

Date and time will be notified in the portal.

✦ Can I use this admission portal without registering as a User?

No. You need to register, to use features of this portal.

✦ Do we have an option to log In as Guest User?

No. We do not have options like guest users. You need to register with the portal to apply for institute level admission.

✦ What details should I have before going for registration?

Before commencing the registration process, request you to keep the below mentioned details ready. (Phone number, Email ID, Strong Password)

✦ What if I am not able to register?

Contact us at pimsradmissions@mes.ac.in / pbsadmissions@mes.ac.in with same Email ID with which you tried to register.

✦ What if I don't remember my username & password?

If a user has forgotten the password then it can be obtained by clicking on “Forgot Password” link present on the login page.

✦ Can I reset my password after registration?

Yes. You can reset your password at any point of time. You will receive mail for password reset process

✦ What if I entered the wrong password multiple times? Will my account get locked?

Yes. Your Account will be locked if max no. of invalid attempts to login exceeds certain number of times.

✦ Can I change my details once updated in the application?

Yes. You can change your details any number of times until final submission.

✦ I am not able to upload file?

Kindly check file format and size before uploading

✦ How is the climate of Mumbai?

June to October - rains (heavy/ moderate), November to January- mild winter or pleasant (up to 30º C), February to May- hot and humid (up to 36º C).

✦ When was the Pillai Panvel campus established?

The campus was established in 1992. The campus offers programmes in Architecture, Management, Degree College and Engineering College which were established in 1992, 1998, 1998 and 1999 respectively. It is run by the Mahatma Education Society. The Engineering and Management College courses are accredited and re-accredited by the NBA. The degree college is re-accredited by NAAC with A-grade. The campus also offers Ph. D. degree programme in Computer and Mechanical Engineering. All the courses/programmes are affiliated to University of Mumbai and the degree is awarded by University of Mumbai.

✦ Is the Pillai group of Institutions a private/ deemed university?

No. The degrees offered by Pillai Group of Institutions are of the University of Mumbai.

✦ Are the degrees recognized all over the world?

Yes, the degree offered is recognized, the students are eligible to take admission in any university in the world.

✦ What is the affiliation/ recognition of the Pillai Group of Institutions?

The courses / programmes are affiliated to the University of Mumbai, recognized by Government of Maharashtra and are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi / Council of Architecture, New Delhi / respective statutory bodies.

✦ How are the results of the First year students?

The college results of the first year are more than 75% every year. Also, even if a student fails to clear all subjects, as per provision of University of Mumbai, admission to a higher semester is permitted by keeping terms of limited no. of subjects of the previous semester Allow To Keep Term (ATKT) in some subjects of the first year. Usually more than 90% of the students are eligible for admission to second year.

✦ How is the Campus Recruitment?

The Training and Placement Cell is an integral part of the Institution. The management is fully invested in providing sound infrastructure and human resources to maintain the Training and Placement Cell and the resulting opportunities the cell provides to students of the College. The Cell’s primary objective is to provide training and placements to college students: organized activities take place throughout the academic year both in the college and the local area. Students are led to take the initiative to develop their attitude in the workplace, soft skills and are given the opportunity to develop technical skills alongside analytical capabilities. The Training and Placement Cell aims to expose students to the nature of the corporate world therefore providing insight to their future professional careers.

✦ Can a foreign student study at Pillai College with a 'Tourist Visa'?

No. A foreign student (citizen) can study at Pillai College only with a 'Student Visa'. If the foreign citizen is of Indian origin, then he/she can apply and get a PIO (People of Indian Origin) Card or OCI (Overseas Citizen of India). Students with PIO or OCI can study in India without a student visa.

✦ How do I apply for a student visa?

You can apply for a Student Visa in your nearest Indian Embassy or Consulate. You will have to apply for a Student Visa based on the confirmed admission letter issued by the International Admissions Cell of Pillai College.

✦ Is there any entrance test to be taken by the NRI/PIO student?

No. The admissions are given based on graduation or equivalent examination marks and as per the rules and regulations made by the State Government of Maharashtra. Currently, no test is required for admission; however, please refer DTE, Maharashtra and the University of Mumbai from time to time for any entrance required or applicable for admissions.

✦ Can an NRI sponsored student pay the course /tuition fee in Indian rupees?

No

✦ Do you offer conditional admissions to students who have written the 10+2 or equivalent examination?

Yes. There is a provision of conditional admission by way of payment of a non-refundable deposit which can be adjusted against fees. However, the admission will be confirmed only after meeting the criteria set by the DTE, Maharashtra and University of Mumbai about results of graduation or equivalent examination.
